General Summary: The Quality Control Specialist serves as a CPC Midsouth resource for the design, layout, and GPS functions relative to the division’s operational needs. This position requires licensure as an Arkansas Surveyor (minimum requirement of Surveyor Intern with a preference of Professional Surveyor); and a high degree of technical expertise, attention to detail, flexibility and versatility in performing the duties necessary in order to meet project or division requirements.

Act as a company liaison with owners, clients, and vendors with respect to quality control functions.
Provide technical advice regarding design or construction modifications to Operations personnel.
Assist Operations personnel in the execution of work in accordance with plans and specifications.
Train Operations personnel on the use of machine control equipment, base stations and rovers.
Assist and support estimating processes as requested including:
Performing necessary quantity take-offs required to prepare cost estimates.
Familiarization with how to utilize current company approved estimating software.
Perform survey, layout, and topo work applying various software and equipment.
Analyze surveys, maps, drawings, aerial photos and any other topographical data for project sites to determine if any additional information is needed.
Coordinate completion, distribution, and installation of GPS files and assure that the highest quality standards are met.
Maintain timely, accurate original ground, progress and as-built surveys and compile onto project files.
Process data and calculate production quantities as requested to assist with pay applications.
Develop and maintain survey book/record(s) for projects and prepare for submission as required.
Assure survey, design and GPS electronic data and documents are correctly organized and stored.
Consult with the Project Manager and/or other designated personnel to determine the extent to which design work is self-performed.
Identify the need to procure third party survey or GPS file services and communicate to the Project Manager.
Assist with the procurement of outsourced services in order to complete the grade control process.
Track and assign all company owned or leased grade control equipment.
Perform troubleshooting and assure accuracy and reliability of machine control equipment.
Solicit, analyze, and evaluate price quotes for grade control supplies and equipment and make recommendations for purchase.
Track, maintain and coordinate calibrations of laser and transit equipment, as well as any other tools or supplies used for quality control of field operations at CPC Midsouth.
