As a Security Officer with Securitas you will be responsible for the security and safety of property and personnel. You will be trained on all site-specific policies and procedures, providing excellent customer service and assist in emergency response activities as needed. Driving positions require a valid Driver’s license with a clean driving record. 

Pay Range: $11.25-$13.00

Location: Little Rock area and Memphis area

Full Time / Part Time & Flex positions are available

Security Officer Requirements:

  • 18 years of age or older 

  • High School Diploma or GED Required 

  • Basic Computer Experience

  • Professional behavior. 

  • Reliable and self-motivated. 

  • High level customer service and communication skills

Private Security Officer (PSO) Commissioned Security Officer (CSO) & Commissioned School Security Officer (CSSO): 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • PSO must be 18 years of age

  • CSO & CSSO must be 21 years of age

  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent

  • Must pass a state and federal background check

  • PSO must complete Phase 1 Training requirements

  • CSO must complete Phase 1 & 2 Training requirements

  • CSSO must complete Phase 1,2,& 3 Training requirements

Disqualifying Factors: 

  • Class A misdemeanor or any Felony

  • A crime involving an act of violence

  • A crime involving the use of a firearm

  • A crime involving the use of alcohol or drugs while in possession of a firearm

  • Suspension for non-payment of child support

Additional qualifications for Private Security Officer

  • Not be suffering from habitual drunkenness or from narcotics addiction or dependence; 

  • Not have been discharged from the United States Armed Forces under dishonorable conditions; 

  • Be in compliance with any other reasonable qualifications that the Director of the Department of Arkansas State Police may set by rule;

  • Not have been adjudicated as mentally incompetent or have been involuntarily committed to a mental institution or mental health treatment facility; and 

  • Not be a registered sex offender or be required to register as a sex offender under the Sex Offender Registration Act of 1997, § 12-12-12 901 et seq. 

Minimum qualifications for Commissioned Security Officer and Commissioned School Security Officer

  • Be at least twenty-one (21) years of age at the time application; 

  • Not be suffering from habitual drunkenness or from narcotics addiction or dependence; 

  • Not have been discharged from the United States Armed Forces under dishonorable conditions; 

  • Be in compliance with any other reasonable qualifications that the Director of the Department of Arkansas State Police may set by rule;

  • Not have been adjudicated as mentally incompetent or have been involuntarily committed to a mental institution or mental health treatment facility; and 

  • Not be a registered sex offender or be required to register as a sex offender under the Sex Offender Registration Act of 1997, § 12-12-12 901 et seq. 

Disqualifying factors for Private Security Officer, Commissioned Security Officer and Commissioned Security Officer

  • The director shall not issue a license or credential nor renew an existing license or credential of a person who has been found guilty of or pleaded guilty or nolo contendere to one (1) or more of the following in any court in the State of Arkansas or a comparable offense in another state, or in a military or federal court for which a pardon has not been granted:

    • A felony; 

    • A Class A misdemeanor;  

    • A crime involving violence; or  

    • A crime involving moral turpitude. 

    • For purposes of this subsection, the state and national criminal background check shall include a record of all offenses that have been previously sealed or expunged by any court. 

  • Please note if you falsify your State Application in which you do not indicate past medical, or criminal offenses you will be fined a minimum of $100 and maximum of $1000 and possible jail time.

Additional disqualifying factors for Private Security Officer, Commissioned Security Officer and Commissioned Security Officer

  • 17-40-349. Suspension for nonpayment of child support.  

 

  • The Director of the Department of Arkansas State Police shall suspend a license, credential, or commission issued under this chapter if the  Department of Arkansas State Police is notified by the Office of Child Support Enforcement that the licensee, credential holder, or commission holder has not paid his or her required child support. 

    • The licensee, credential holder, or commission holder shall be sent notice of the suspension under this section. 

    • The licensee, credential holder, or commission holder may be reinstated after: 

      • Full payment of the amount due through the office; and 

      • Notification from the office to the department.
