Data Center Administrator

City of Little Rock Information Technology Department

Serves as administrator for the City of Little Rock virtual and physical data centers and storage area network (SANS) systems by developing, configuring, maintaining, implementing, archiving and backing up clustered data center systems to ensure plans are in place for future data growth and new systems integration processes are in place; serves as administrator for the City's backup system by developing and implementing backup and recovery strategies for all virtual and physical servers and ensures backup data centers are operational and functioning in compliance with Departmental policies and procedures; serves as the administrator for the Dell Data Center and the Dell Cyber Back-up and Recovery system; ensures files are backed up nightly and are available for restoration and disaster recovery in compliance with Departmental policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications and Additional Requirements: These knowledge, skills, and abilities are usually, although not always, acquired through completion of an Associate's Degree in a Computer Science, Information Systems Science or a related area, four (4) years of experience in back up technology, virtual storage, or database server configuration, to include demonstrated experience in virtual server installation, maintenance and configuration or related area. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be available to work nights, holidays, and weekends and respond to emergency calls as required.
